Through a collaborative project, Prevent Blindness Ohio and the Ohio Chapter of AAP has developed and will present a medical education program for family practice and pediatric interns and residents and primary care nursing staff/students to educate them on eye health and the importance of vision assessment in children. This medical education program was developed and piloted with family practice and pediatric residency programs in SFY 2005. Participants in the program will receive the Preschool Vision Screening Manual for Healthcare Professionals that PBO uses in all our preschool vision screening trainings and an assortment of brochures on eye health and safety.
